Current Year Reduction Actions

01

What We’re Reducing

We plan to reduce our emissions from business travel by 7% relative to our size, year on year from a base year of 2019

How We'll Reduce It

We're going to re-write our entire global travel policy, mandating electrified train travel where possible, removing point to point air travel, encouraging video conferencing, applying only eco-hotel partners and creating a Co2 budget

02

What We’re Reducing

We plan to reduce our non-renewable energy consumption in all our offices

How We'll Reduce It

By having more than 50% of all office space accredited on a Green Building Standards Accreditation we will ensure that all insulation standards are high (reducing the need for energy) and energy supply is from low-impact renewables

Other Sustainability Notes

We started Dept to build the best digital agency in the world. And that means building the best digital agency for the world, too. Technology is changing how people interact. How products and services are imagined, created and delivered. It is transforming and reshaping businesses, economies and life itself. Even so, we understand that tech needs to take responsibility for its impact within the world’s biggest problems, including climate change. We want to be among the first in a long line of digital agencies to take on that responsibility. That’s why we became Climate Neutral and why it is our goal to be carbon negative in the coming years. And because technology is what we do, we want to help our clients unlock digital power for their sustainability challenges. That is how, as an agency, we can have the biggest (and the best) impact. As Dept integrates sustainability into all its processes and services this year, we will also make it a part of our projects. By 2023, projects with a positive social or environmental impact will compose more than 15% of our total revenue. For examples of some of the projects we’ve already delivered on this front, have a look at our Good Company page.
