03 Compensate
I grew up with the natural world as my playground, with a grandmother who pulled over to pick up litter, and a mom who recycled before it was cool. I have had the opportunity to travel from a young age and was exposed to the impacts of systems of poverty in a way I've never forgotten. For me, creating systems that serve people and the planet was always going to be part of my career. When I started trying to make it a part of my shopping habits, too, I realized how difficult and confusing that can be, and I decided the average American shopper needed a simple option for conscious and sustainable shopping.
