03 Reduce

Pakt is implementing a Reduction Action Plan to reduce emissions from within its own operations and supply chain.

Current Year Reduction Actions

01

What We’re Reducing

We will reduce internal file and email storage. We will reduce reliance on data storage services with high power usage effectiveness (PUE).

How We'll Reduce It

Regular cleaning up in the cloud and deleting useless files. Create an internal policy for data storage, and reduction techniques. Seek out lower power usage storage options for our archives and long term storage needs.

02

What We’re Reducing

Emissions related to material and hardware sourcing. The use of materials and hardware with a larger carbon footprint.

How We'll Reduce It

Attempt to source materials in close proximity to our manufacturing partner. Evaluate materials and hardware that have the lowest impact on our footprint.

03

What We’re Reducing

Reduce the amount of unused air space in shipping containers.

How We'll Reduce It

Evaluate order quantities in relation to the volume of shipping containers, combining orders when necessary, or adjusting quantities.

04

What We’re Reducing

Minimize air space in product packaging. Reduce size of packaging or how products are packed.

How We'll Reduce It

For each product, we will evaluate ways to reduce packaging size, and evaluate the most efficient way to package products.

Other Sustainability Notes

At Pakt, we believe that the only truly sustainable product development is none at all. But since that option isn't compatible with the lives we lead and the world we live in, we're on a mission to do the next best thing: producing products as responsibly as possible, building them to last, and designing them to be versatile so that the buyer can minimize the number of products they need. Our approach involves measuring the carbon footprint of our products and manufacturing operations, reducing our impact through a range of initiatives, such as evaluating all materials and hardware used in products and taking a closer look at our shipping methods to see where we can improve, and fully offsetting the carbon emissions that remain. All Pakt product packaging is 100% plastic-free and designed by our sister company, SeaHive, where we fight the huge environmental issue caused by plastic product packaging and work on other ocean conservation efforts.
