Sustainability Story

We're a small company based in San Francisco made up of people who enjoy the outdoors and enjoy it even more when the air is clean. In our personal lives we all make choices to be more sustainable and we think that companies should do the same. That's why we have chosen to become climate neutral certified along with 1% for the planet members. Every decision we make as a business is run through a "lens" to insure we are making choices to mitigate climate change. We could do business as usual, Ornot.

What is Climate Neutrality

A state in which human activities result in no net effect on the climate system. Requires balancing of residual greenhouse gas emissions with reductions or removals. All Climate Neutral Certified brands must meet climate neutrality standards for measuring, offsetting, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from making and delivering products and services.

This certification covers business activities and operations for the following brands :

Ornot achieved Climate Neutral Certification as part of 's certification process. 's measurement, offsetting and reduction plans fully account for Ornot's 2021 emissions

01 Measure

Ornot measured Scope 1, 2 and 3 cradle-to-customer emissions following categories and approaches established in the Climate Neutral standards.

GHG Scope 1 ?
GHG Protocol Scope 1

Emissions from energy used in buildings, fleets, and equipment.

1 tCO2e

GHG Scope 2 ?

15 tCO2e

GHG Scope 3 ?
GHG Protocol Scope 3

Emissions from raw materials, manufacturing, shipping, air travel, and other activities in the supply chain.

795 tCO2e

Total Emissions ?
Total Carbon Emissions

The sum of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

811 tCO2e

02 Offset

Ornot invested in projects outside of their value chain to compensate for all of their measured carbon emissions. This step supports their climate neutrality designation, and enables Ornot to take responsibility for historical emissions that can’t be reduced.

Total Investment in Carbon Credits

Current Year Reduction Actions

01

What We’re Reducing

We plan to reduce emissions associated with waste produced during the manufacturing of our products.

How We'll Reduce It

We plan to develop a clothing line of jerseys, pullovers, and outerwear using deadstock fabric and remnants. Cut and sewn right here in California.

02

What We’re Reducing

We're changing our packaging again. While compostable packaging is great, we have decided to go one step further and source bags made from 100% ocean bound plastic pollution.

How We'll Reduce It

Instead of using virgin resources to make compostable bags, the production of these bags are actively cleaning up ocean pollution and using resources already made.

What We’re Reducing

Changing our warehouse and shipping techniques. Our new warehouse partner is also pending Climate Neutral Certification!

How We'll Reduce It

Warehouse is closer to production facilities therefore reducing shipping distance. Also reducing "back and forth" shipping between office and warehouse.
