Sustainability Story

At Kammok, we're on a mission to elevate time outside by designing adventure grade, better made gear. Gear supports our experiences outdoors, but producing gear creates carbon emissions that impact our planet and the people: from our families and neighbors to the factory workers on the front-lines of climate change overseas, and even future generations. We believe that climate change is so much more than solely an environmental or political issue, it's a human issue that affects all of us. As a company driven by three core values of adventure, community, and love, it's a challenge and an adventure in itself to reduce our climate impact, and we do this for the love of our global community.

What is Climate Neutrality

A state in which human activities result in no net effect on the climate system. Requires balancing of residual greenhouse gas emissions with reductions or removals. All Climate Neutral Certified brands must meet climate neutrality standards for measuring, offsetting, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from making and delivering products and services.

This certification covers business activities and operations for the following brands :

Kammok achieved Climate Neutral Certification as part of 's certification process. 's measurement, offsetting and reduction plans fully account for Kammok's 2021 emissions

01 Measure

Kammok measured Scope 1, 2 and 3 cradle-to-customer emissions following categories and approaches established in the Climate Neutral standards.

GHG Scope 1 ?
GHG Protocol Scope 1

Emissions from energy used in buildings, fleets, and equipment.

44 tCO2e

GHG Scope 2 ?

1,027 tCO2e

GHG Scope 3 ?
GHG Protocol Scope 3

Emissions from raw materials, manufacturing, shipping, air travel, and other activities in the supply chain.

1,996 tCO2e

Total Emissions ?
Total Carbon Emissions

The sum of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

3,068 tCO2e

02 Offset

Kammok invested in projects outside of their value chain to compensate for all of their measured carbon emissions. This step supports their climate neutrality designation, and enables Kammok to take responsibility for historical emissions that can’t be reduced.

Total Investment in Carbon Credits

$21,560.00

03 Reduce

Kammok has set targets and identified actions to reduce their emissions from operations and their supply chain. These actions will enable Kammok to emit fewer emissions in the future.

Mid Term Targets

Kammok has committed to reducing 2021 emissions 50% by 2030.

This target is aligned with global trajectories to limit climate warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Mid Term Targets

This target is aligned with global trajectories to limit climate warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Reduction Actions

Kammok is implementing a Reduction Action Plan to reduce emissions from within its own operations and supply chain.

Current Year Reduction Actions

01

What We’re Reducing

We are moving most of our production to Bluesign Certified facilities where emissions are dramatically reduced and waste is minimized.

How We'll Reduce It

We will shift 50% of production to these new Bluesign Certified facilities.

02

What We’re Reducing

We plan to reduce freight shipping emissions.

How We'll Reduce It

We plan to reduce freight shipping emissions by optimizing product packaging to fit more products in a full container. This will enable us to do more with less cargo bookings.

In Progress Reductions

01

100%

What We’re Reducing

We plan to reduce carbon emissions in manufacturing finished product.

How We'll Reduce It

We plan to reduce emissions by incorporating more Bluesign approved fabrics and also recycled raw material content into our finished products.

02

100%

What We’re Reducing

We plan to reduce air freight shipping by 50% going into 2022, and minimizing shipping inefficiencies by 25% by 2022.

How We'll Reduce It

We will reduce air freight emissions by ordering more product farther in advance (better purchase planning), and we will be minimizing shipping inefficiencies by optimizing shipping packaging.
