Sustainability Story

Chunks are proudly and responsibly made in Jinhua, China and we are continually seeking ways to support responsible manufacturing through the entirety of our products' journey to customers. As a small business, we are continually learning and improving on our production process, materials, and ways to center sustainability in our supply chain. We are committed to using high quality acetate over conventional petroleum based plastics to reduce emissions during production. We are also committed to continued research and investment into the full journey of our materials on this planet, as new methodologies in biodegradability and compostability in polymer science evolve. Ultimately, we aim to own our contradictions as a brand that relies on consumerism, but is deeply committed to sustainability and ethical manufacturing, and strive to do better at every opportunity. What is Climate Neutrality

A state in which human activities result in no net effect on the climate system. Requires balancing of residual greenhouse gas emissions with reductions or removals. All Climate Neutral Certified brands must meet climate neutrality standards for measuring, offsetting, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from making and delivering products and services.

What We’re Reducing

We plan to reduce our Scope 1 & 2 emissions by learning the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard (EMS) and developing an internal EMS which we will have fully developed by Q3-Q4 of 2023, and implemented by Q2 of 2024.

How We'll Reduce It

We will achieve ISO 14001 Standard Compliance by performing a Gap Analysis between current operating procedures and the ISO standards, planning our improvement measures, training our team, and documenting our resulting Environmental Management System.

What We’re Reducing

We plan to reduce emissions in Upstream Shipping by developing a product ordering process that will include monthly planned orders of existing products that are consolidated to avoid unnecessary additional shipping emissions.

How We'll Reduce It

We will implement a product ordering process which will require that existing products are ordered once per month, that samples only be shipped with bulk production orders, and that ocean freight is used whenever feasible (goal of 15% of orders by Q4 23).
