What is Climate Neutrality

A state in which human activities result in no net effect on the climate system. Requires balancing of residual greenhouse gas emissions with reductions or removals. All Climate Neutral Certified brands must meet climate neutrality standards for measuring, offsetting, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from making and delivering products and services.

Current Year Reduction Actions

01

What We’re Reducing

We will reduce emissions from air freight by 10% or greater.

How We'll Reduce It

We will transition from away from international air freight and use alternative shipping methods (like ocean freight, or domestic freight) instead.

02

What We’re Reducing

We plan to eliminate disposable plastic scoops from our AG1 product pouches.

How We'll Reduce It

We will phase out the disposable plastic scoops that come inside of a pouch of AG1, and instead send every customer a reusable metal scoop with first purchase.

In Progress Reductions

01

50%

What We’re Reducing

We plan to reduce reliance on international production and produce closer to consumer, reducing our shipping emissions. 4 candidates for reduction: welcome boxes, stainless canisters, shaker bottles, and standup pouches.

How We'll Reduce It

We will evaluate which items are the best candidates for this change, then move forward with sourcing the items in the USA, and placing POs with these US manufacturers.

02

90%

What We’re Reducing

Approximately 75% of all Athletic Greens shipments are a single AG1 pouch shipping to a customer on subscription. Currently, the shipper pouch we use is a standard stock size - 9.5x13.75x2. We can reduce the size of this shipper and use fewer materials.

How We'll Reduce It

We need to determine the ideal size to account for this single item, then do ship testing, run through current inventory, and place a new PO with the smaller size.
