Introducing Our Newest Climate Neutral Certified Brands This Earth Week

This Earth Week, we’re delighted to introduce the newest Climate Neutral Certified brands. Each successfully met the leading Standard of climate action and took immediate steps to 'Invest in Our Planet'.

This Saturday marks the 53rd anniversary of the first Earth Day in 1970, when 20 million people swarmed public spaces across the U.S. to protest environmental abuse. Their voices then led to policies that continue to protect our air, water, and soil today.

Half a century later, the urgency continues to mount. The world is struggling to meet critical net-zero targets that would avert the worst of climate change. With only seven years until 2030, voluntary action and investment must fill in where policy continues to lag.

A better Earth won’t happen because of a pledge for future action. It will emerge when people step up and decide to invest cold hard cash into projects that cut GHG emissions. Projects that matter to the climate. Today.

This is why we started Climate Neutral four years ago, and it’s the thinking behind this year’s global call to action: ‘Invest in Our Planet’

It’s a big day—and week—for us, because we get to announce our next set of Climate Neutral Certified companies. Each one has taken immediate responsibility and invested in solutions for a healthy, prosperous, and equitable future.

Since January, these 129 companies successfully worked to meet the Climate Neutral Certified Standard by:

  1. Measuring their Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions generated from making and delivering products and services
  2. Developing time-bound Reduction Action Plans to reduce their emissions over the next 12-24 months
  3. Compensating for their 2022 climate impacts by investing in eligible verified carbon offset projects that remove and avoid emissions

Collectively, these certifying brands offset 748,866 tonnes of carbon and directed approximately $5,220,732 towards climate solutions.

In this decisive decade, corporate carbon accountability matters. Immediate, voluntary actions matter. If every company in the world took these same steps, the world would be much, much closer to its net-zero future.

We’re grateful to introduce the 31 companies below that have become Climate Neutral Certified for the very first time:

Emission Factors and the Emissions Factor

Thousands of people around the world study emission factors full time, and their research improves the data so that we can better understand the impacts. We just finished updating the emission factor library in our measurement tools, an annual process that brings our datasets - tens of thousands of emission factors - up to date with the latest releases and scientific research.
